Mel is the Occupational Therapy team manager, bringing extensive clinical experience to her leadership role within the OT team. Mel loves the practicality and holistic potential of occupational therapy because it supports people to engage in important activities, improve their functional capacity, and assist with independence and participation.

Having specialised in community aged care, and with specific interests in falls prevention, assistive technology and palliative care, Mel has a deep appreciation for the collaborative opportunities occupational therapy makes possible.

Mel has a background in caring and client-focused roles – beginning her career in health as a registered nurse – but was excited by the opportunity to shift toward working proactively with clients to promote function and independence.

As a result, Mel undertook a Graduate Entry Master of Occupational Therapy degree at the University of Queensland.

When not leading the OT team, you will find Mel outdoors! A love of sunshine, surf and sand means Mel spends her spare time surfing, hiking, and swimming with her family.

Claire is an Occupational Therapist who works across the aged care and disability sectors. She is passionate about working in the community alongside client’s to enable them to continue living in their home environment for as long as possible. Claire is committed to promoting participation in activities that have specific relevance or meaning to clients, and that support their interests, needs, and participation in daily life. Her interests and skills lie in equipment prescription and complex home modifications.

Claire has attained additional qualifications in complex home modifications enabling her to provide expert access advice on building renovations. Claire has also completed further training in complex seating and wheelchair prescription - MAT assessment trained.

Claire holds a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from the University of the Sunshine Coast.

In her spare time you will find Claire at the beach with her border collie, practicing yoga, or watching a nature documentary.

Gabi works with older adults in the community to help them maintain their independence through rehabilitation after illness or injury. Gabi values collaborative, client-centered therapy because she understands that an increased sense of control and independence benefits the overall wellbeing of older adults.

With experience in chronic conditions rehabilitation, mental health, and aged care, Gabi is passionate about helping people achieve their goals through the independent undertaking of activities that generate meaning and purpose in their lives. Gabi completed her Honours research in the area of adults with disability and continues to expand her knowledge in diseases common in older age and chronic conditions.

Gabi holds a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) from the University of the Sunshine Coast.

Beyond her passion for helping her clients, Gabi loves making people smile, and values spending time with family and friends.

Nicole works with people with physical and intellectual disabilities to assist them in realising their everyday goals. Nicole believes that it is important for people to have the opportunity to be as independent as possible and works with individuals to achieve this by removing barriers in their home environments, acquiring assistive technologies and equipment, and providing therapy.

Nicole is a certified Major Modifications Occupational Therapist through Assistive Technologies Australia, and is trained in the area of complex postural seating. She has also completed extensive training in the areas of equipment prescription.

Nicole holds a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from the University of Queensland.

To satisfy her creative side, Nicole enjoys painting, macramé and embroidering, and keeps herself busy with puzzles, yoga, and outdoor activities like hiking and paddle boarding.

Susan is a senior OT who specialises in assistive technology. More recently, she has developed an interest and completed further training in supporting people with Dementia and Parkinson's Disease.

Susan loves being a community-based OT because she enjoys working closely with people in their own environments. As an OT, Susan finds that every day is different, and is grateful for the opportunity to learn from the lived experiences of others, as she works with them to improve their ability to engage in the activities they find most meaningful.

Susan was drawn to occupational therapy due to the evidence-based holistic approach and the practical and creative problem solving involved in assisting people to engage in everyday activities.

Susan holds a Masters Degree in Disability Policy and Practice from Flinders University and a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from the University of Queensland.

For Susan, outside of work is all about quality time with her family and enjoying the Sunshine Coast lifestyle.

Georgia is an Occupational Therapist with a passion for making a difference in people's lives. Georgia loves Occupational Therapy because she enjoys relationship building and collaborating with her clients to achieve meaningful outcomes through therapy, equipment prescription or home modifications.

With interests in equipment prescription and home modifications (both minor and major), Georgia is focused on helping her clients to gain access to important supports that can really improve their quality of life.

Georgia holds a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) from the University of the Sunshine Coast.

In her spare time, Georgia loves heading to the beach, being around friends and family, and getting involved in social sports.

Hannah works with a mixed caseload of both community and NDIS clients on the Sunshine Coast. Hannah is dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of clients with a range of conditions and disabilities and appreciates the learning opportunities this presents.

With an interest in adult rehabilitation, particularly neuro rehabilitation, upper limb rehab and physical disability, Hannah is passionate about helping people realise their true potential by engaging in occupations that are meaningful to them. Hannah has always wanted to work in a profession that allows her to have a positive impact in the lives of others and couldn’t think of any better way of doing this than through being an OT.

Hannah holds a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) from the University of the Sunshine Coast.

When not at work Hannah enjoys playing hockey, spending time at the beach, and catching up with family and friends.

Jacqueline works with a range of NDIS client across Northern Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, with a focus on empowering her clients through skill-based practical therapy. Jacqueline has experience in workplace rehabilitation and motor vehicle accidents, and has particular interests in equipment prescription, task modification and ergonomics.

With a strong desire to help her clients to achieve their goals, Jacqueline aims to be a positive force in supporting her clients to reach those all-important milestones.

Jacqueline graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) from the University of the Sunshine Coast.

As a long-term Sunshine Coast local Jacqueline enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and kayaking.

Kayla is an OT who loves being able to help her clients and witness firsthand the benefits occupational therapy can have on a person's quality of life. Having personally seen the positive impact occupational therapy has had on one of her own family member's living with a disability, Kayla appreciates how occupational therapy places the person at the centre of care.

Kayla finds being an Occupational Therapist a highly rewarding experience, and is especially interested in neurological conditions, equipment prescription and minor home modifications.

Holding a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) from the Australian Catholic University, Kayla believes occupational therapy is beneficial due to its holistic qualities.

In her down time, Kayla loves going to the beach, watching movies and spending quality time with family and friends.
